Everybody Wins! IT Must Be Why Harrah’s Is Cutting Back!
by Rob Singer
Tuesday, October 20, 2009

Rob Singer Without a doubt, it HAS to be that Harrah’s is the only casino operator in the world who’s losing money to gamblers. It just HAS to be! I mean, when you scan the video poker boards all over the Internet, the first thing you run into is moaning and groaning over how many slot club card benefits have been axed, how they’ve cheapened up their Diamond Lounge food freebies, and how they’ve cut back on most of their pay tables across the land. You’d think they just didn’t like their customers--yet have no problem letting them win MONEY at will!

After all, isn’t Harrah’s in this business for the sole purpose of handing out cash to video poker players? And aren’t they then obligated to pile comps, gifts, cash back and free-play on top of all that? Well, if you've followed any of the boards you'd clearly see that this is the overwhelming expected format they should be following! Who in their right mind would ever think Harrah’s is in this for the purpose of turning a PROFIT??

A few days ago, although I no longer write on any of the forums (and it sure felt great to kick that habit--an addiction in its own right) I took a look at what was going on over at vpFREE – which is the only worthwhile video poker forum if you have the time to read such things. It’s always entertaining seeing how grown players whine and cry over the slightest deletions – and especially, changes – made by the casinos...and in this particular case, Harrah’s. According to most vp players, it’s as if the action was taken as a direct response in order to punish them for all their winning!

But for a few of the posters, they didn’t care one bit about the downgrades. You see, these are self-proclaimed “advantage players” who, like many of the math people and almost all of the other famous names of the game out there, are Seven Stars slot club card holders, which simply put means they run at least a million dollars a year through Harrah’s machines. Yet these folks seem to want everyone who reads their stories to just give them pass after pass on their hypocrisy of putting so much money through Harrah’s notoriously negative EV machines, while claiming to be such feared Advantage Players who supposedly only play when they find a machine with a theoretical advantage. Heck, I’ve even got Jean Scott coming onto vpFREE now admitting that she has to be VERY creative in what extras to toss into the mix to be able to still claim it’s a “good play”. Here’s a hint Jean: Strong, truthful players have no need to do that baloney. Can anyone here spell "SLOT CARD ADDICTION?"

Along the same lines, we saw a thread that told about the recent “oh so special” Seven Stars annual get together - this year in Atlantic City. The handful of players who came on to blab about their trip also are the same ones who ALWAYS come on and make sure they let everyone know what BIG WIENERS...Oops! I mean WINNERS, they are! And not only did these two pathological gamblers and their similarly inflicted partners “win big” --- every Seven Stars player AROUND them was winning between $16,000 and $40,000 jackpots almost on demand too! Golly gee…..why couldn’t that be ME?!

And did I mention not only did Harrah’s fly and put up every one of these famous guests for free – they paid for their shows, their food, their gifts….and they even had no problem letting them all WIN even more money than they’ve been “winning” all year long! Now have I made you feel insignificant and small yet or what!?

I think you get my point by now. Yet the most mysterious part of all this remains a mystery to those who believe in common sense. How can a forum, with an unspoken “Advantage Player Only” creed, that's supposedly made up of the most intelligent video poker players in the country, collectively & continually look the other way when it comes to the extreme contradiction surrounding the stories put forth by these Seven Stars blabbers? And if you want to take it a step further, if Harrah’s seems to be in such dire straits, how in the world can they afford to have so many Seven Stars players who seem to beat the hell out of them time after time -- and on top of it all, just give them thousands of dollars in perks to boot!? Just ask those who scream “Look at Me!” Look at Me!” on vpFREE about it. They NEVER lose, and they all have such great casino-driven lives!

Here’s my dollar fifty: They’re full of it, they’re full of themselves, and the gurus & their followers who hold Seven Stars cards are full of more than that. AND THEY ALL KNOW IT!!
