Closer One Gets To VP, The Further The Truth Gets
by Rob Singer
Tuesday, October 28, 2008

Rob Singer At times, nailing down the truth over the years about what’s being said, written and ultimately perceived in the world of video poker can be, as John McCain recently pointed out about his opponent’s slick way of changing his position on issues at will, very similar to “trying to nail jello to the wall”.

In fact, inasmuch as that statement is true in the midst of one of our most important yet wildest election years ever, even more incomparable deception travels with our Democratic Presidential Nominee. And if you bear with me, you’ll see just how closely related this becomes to what we are told by the most famous video poker writers out there.

It seems absolutely incredible to me how Barrack Obama, notwithstanding his wife who has openly slammed the USA and her relation to it (until, that is, her husband appeared on the fast track to the “White House” – a term than must continually rattle her insides), can get his supporters to simply “look the other way” when it comes to his spotted past.

Sure, we’ve all had unsavory characters as friends, supporters, work associates and/or classmates. But in the world of highly visible politics and high-rolling finance, this “Chosen One” seems to be in a class of his own in his uncanny admiration for one of the most dangerous collection of bad guys this country has ever produced. What will mutated ideals like that do to his thinking and judgement if he gets into the White House as our World Leader?? William Ayers as “just another guy in the neighborhood” or “someone I worked on a Board with”? Not quite….to those who’ve taken the time to study the exact relationship over a number of years, which is cunningly hidden from us by most of the media for their own agenda-driven reasons. Ayers is a self-admitted domestic terrorist who got off the hook by a clumsy technicality. Yet Obama lies through his teeth when saying “I didn’t realize any of that when we started working together” and further buries himself by recently claiming “back then I thought he was REHABILITATED” even though Ayers remained unrepentant and said he “wishes he caused more damage” in a speech in 2001. Amazing.

Then we have his “spiritual leader” as he calls him—the Reverend Racist Wright. Here’s someone who has no shame saying he hates Jews and whites, who calls America-hater Louis Farakhan his “friend” and publicly damns America for being, well, America. Yet Obama successfully got his tribe to just “brush this off the slate” by claiming he never heard (and thus supposedly, he never was, eh-em, swayed by or agreed with) any of this attitude during his first 20 years of the relationship while attending over FIVE HUNDRED SERMONS by this freak!

I think you get the picture or at least should….even though I know there’s many who just don’t want any of it to be true so to them it isn’t. To these folks I submit this: Ever wonder why he’s been and is still close friends with a Muslim who openly insults Israel and American Jews and who aligned himself with that beauty Yasser Arafat when the PLO was listed as a terrorist organization? It’s so creepy it’s almost unbelievable that this guy could and probably will win the presidency.

OK, so how does all this compare to what’s going on in the video poker world? Well, passes seem to be the order of the day with Barrack Obama, and I’ve been saying that about Bob Dancer and Jean Scott for years. I mean, I know why there are so many faithful followers of Jean Scott who play video poker. They are newcomers and low rollers who dream of being at the perceived play level she’s at.

Perceived? Of course! Who else makes the public believe she wins while playing what to the vast majority of players is way too much for her own good and the good of her readers, and yet can only come out and announce losing ONLY after being able to announce a big hit? Remember, this is supposed to be a “Frugal Gambler”. Who here recalls last year when she made such a fuss about her live-in lover “Brad” being dealt a $100,000 Royal at the Palms? Well, whether it was to clear her conscience or whether there was Divine Intervention involved, she almost immediately came out and said how badly such a win was needed because they were BEHIND about $105,000 at that point! I’d now like to see a raise of hands from those who expected her to admit that the very next day if he HADN’T won a hundred thousand dollars... I think you get the picture here too.

She’s quite a character yes, and I believe she’s a major danger to players who are just playing to have fun or trying to win a little money. But nowhere is there as slick an operator as the most famous name out there – Bob Dancer. Here’s someone who in my opinion uses massive amounts of smoke and mirrors to mask what he actually does and how he does it.

First, I cannot comprehend anyone who plays the amount of time he claims he plays. I used to be compelled (and I believe more appropriately, sick) in similar fashion when I played as an expert-play long-term strategist. But thank God I snapped out of it and saw my family and children as being FAR more important in my life. I also didn’t ever want to be stuck in that miserable rut of not ever being able to take another vacation without video poker being a part of it in any way, shape or form – as so many players today are cursed with because they play so much.

But what I REALLY don’t understand is how so many people don’t see how anyone who claims to be a professional video poker player also works FOR A LIVING! Would you? I certainly don’t. Yet he gets a pass from those who want his fantasy to be theirs. Because Bob talks often about the math in video poker, many math geeks and nerds follow his advice and as a result, most of them have come to me for desperation help once they can’t stand the losing any longer. It is like a broken record stuck in déjà vu.

Yes I know, you want to read more of my playing experiences and trips, and I’ll be putting up an article next week about my trip to Hawaii’s Big Island that we all just returned from. And no, there was no video poker, I had no computers, and yes I was surrounded by my family. I wonder if that scenario would sell video poker software programs, videos, strategy cards (best laminated and used as drink coasters, BTW) and other junk!?
